About the event

Event Registration Opens April 15, 2021

As the saying goes, there’s unity in community. For the Alaska Run for Women, that means in 2020 we stay apart so we can play a part in the fight against breast cancer.

We are making this move, first and foremost, with the health and safety in mind of all participants, while still supporting our mission of breast cancer awareness, education, research and prevention.

For 28 years we have brought Alaska’s women together in historic numbers, now we’ll ask you to come together in a new way for our most historic event yet! Whether side-by-side physically or in spirit, we stand united to the cause.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Showing our unity in commnunity, for 2020, we are celebrating in a variety of fun ways for 8 days!

1-in-8 your way! On a trail, on a treadmill, or your favorite way on your favorite day! Join the week-long celebration on the day of your choice – or several – in the way that works best for you, individually, as a team or by inviting friends from across the country!

Sign up and bring your friends and family from around the country along with you. Grab your sisters, mothers, daughters, co-workers, neighbors…you get the idea! This event is for every female near and far. Please register your kids – girls of all ages are welcome – they will love wearing their own race bibs!

Why Should I Register?
  • As always, in order to include all women regardless of economic circumstances, the Run for Women has no set registration fee. This event relies solely on donations, and every dollar makes a difference! The Run for Women has granted more than $4.9 million in the past 27 years and supported thousands of mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women throughout Alaska.
  • If you are able to donate, may we suggest a $25.00 donation (more is always welcome)? The greater your donation, the more we are able to fulfill the mission of grant making to organizations concerned with breast cancer awareness, research, education, outreach, and mammograms for underserved women.
  • To have a great time! The event week will be filled with fun challenges and ways for you to show your support in the fight against breast cancer.
Registration Incentives!

1. The first 350 people who register and donate a minimum of $25 will receive a pink fandana (some people call them buffs) imprinted with the 2020 logo. Additional fandanas can be purchased in our online store! THE 350 FANDANAS HAVE BEEN CLAIMED!! 2. Everybody who registers will be entered in a drawing to win one of these fantastic prizes: One of two trips for two to Maui on Alaska Airlines with a 3-night stay at Ho’oilo House or a one-year Gold Family Membership to The Alaska Club. 3. Everybody who registers and donates a minimum of $25 will be entered in a drawing to win either a white spruce or a paper birch tree, all good in Alaska. There are 100 trees and each are 2-3 ft in height and ready to plant.
